It was opened in 1951.
The venue was closed in 2012 due to its state of disrepair.
Before its closure it was known as Mesker Park Amphitheatre and was also sometimes listed as both Mesker Amphitheatre and Mesker Park Amphitheater.
Since its closure the venue entrance features the name Mesker Memorial Theatre.
