  • Location / Chicago, IL, USA
  • Venue / Allstate Arena

The first show by the band in this city since July 1996 on the Slang tour.

The 7th time at this venue.

The venue is located in Rosemont which is 19 miles to the North West of Chicago city centre.

It was opened in May 1980 as Rosemont Horizon.

In June 1999 the name was changed to Allstate Arena.

The last show of the 20th Century for the band.

The band used the Big Ben chimes to mark the new Millennium/Century before playing "21st Century Sha La La La Girl" for the only recorded time.

Introduced by Joe with "Welcome To The 21st Century!".

They then ended the show with 'Let It Go'.

As the chimes rang out two blowers shot 'Def Leppard Dollars' into the crowd.

Each member had their own with this same back on it.

Joe played drums with Enuff Z'Nuff during their soundcheck on a cover of The Beatle's track 'Revolution'.

Motley Crue had been due to play with the band at these shows but pulled out and were replaced by Dokken.

Press stories about this show originally mentioned trying to play another gig on the same day at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

A very good audience recording exists

A decent quality audience recording exists from this show which is sometimes known as 'Millennium Demolition'.
