DEF LEPPARD 2018 North American Tour Leg 1 News Round Up

Def Leppard ended the first leg of their 2018 North American tour on 16th June and this story looks back at the first 16 shows.
The 16 date tour leg started in Hartford, CT on 21st May at the XL Center and ended on 16th June in Baltimore, MD at Royal Farms Arena.
The band debuted a new stage show featuring a spectacular show opening with moving video screens and the first use of laser since the 1992/1993 Adrenalize tour.
The 16 song setlist played featured a new song being performed at all 16 shows in the form of the 1995 hit single 'When Love & Hate Collide'. A hit outside of the USA but never previously performed in any of the cities played.
'Rocket' was used as the show opener for the first time since 2008's 'Songs From The Sparkle Lounge' tour. The only other time it has been used as song one.
A handful of other cities on the tour had two or three new songs performed with 'Man Enough' and 'Rock On' also having never been played there.
The tour has not been without it's hiccups as Phil Collen had to miss three shows in late May due to a 'family emergency' but soon returned at the Cincinnati, OH show. Steve Brown of Trixter standing in for him as he had done for Vivian in 2014 and 2015.
The Toronto date saw the band perform to one of it's largest audiences ever in North America with over 40,000 people attending the show at the Rogers Centre stadium.
The second leg kicks off on 1st July in Atlanta, GA where the band will headline the first of five stadium shows to be played in July. Three of which Def Leppard will headline.
