- Venue / Orange County Fairgrounds / Orange County Speedway
- Event / Orange County Fair
The first show by the band in this city since July 1993 on the Adrenalize tour.
The third time at this venue.
The venue is located in the city centre.
The fair was firs theld in 1841 and has hosted major music concerts since at least 1981.
Joe Elliott's friend and idol Ian Hunter sang lead vocals during the final encore song, Mott The Hoople classic 'All The Young Dudes'.
He later released this version on his compilation album 'Once Bitten Twice Shy' in 2000.
Ian was kind enough to confirm the location of this recording to me on 16th June 2005 via his website's Horse's Mouth section.
Darren: 'Where did you sing 'Dudes' with Def Leppard in 1996?' - "I think it was in Orange County upstate New York. Jones Beach was around 2000 (ish)."
In June 2021 this recording was officially released by Def Leppard on their 'Collection Volume Three' box set and available to stream for the first time.
