  • Venue / Rasunda Stadium / Rasunda Fotbollsstadion
  • Event / Monsters Of Rock

The first show by the band in this city since October 1983 on the Pyromania tour.

The first time at this venue.

The venue was located in the Solna area 4.1 miles to the North West of the city centre of Stockholm.

It was opened in May 1937.

It was expanded in 1958 and renovated in 1985.

The venue was closed in 2012 and demolished in 2013 to be replaced by housing and offices.

It was once the countries National football stadium but was replaced with the 50,000 capacity Friends Arena located 1km away.

'Foolin'' replaced 'Run Riot' in the setlist.

Steve added part of the 'NO NO NO' guitar riff towards the end of 'Wasted'.

Queen played the first show of 'The Magic Tour', which would be their final concert tour, here on 7th June 1986.

In later interviews Joe Elliott said he attended the 5th July performance by Queen at Slane Castle on the same tour.

Show Story - From Animal Instinct

"He had good reason to be embarrased at Stockholm's Rasunda Fotbolstadion the next day when, at one point during Leppard's set, he decided to pull a fast one on Phil Collen by racing across stage left and switching Phil's guitar off in mid-song. Too bad for Steve that it rained earlier in the day. As he zoomed past Phil, his foot hit the west plastic covering at the side of the stage and he went down ass-first on the floor, knocking all the tuning heads off his guitar."

Show Story - From Fan Club Magazine

"Stockholm went smoothly also. On that show we were the 2nd act on after a local group. Luckily too, because by the time the Scorpions went on just after sunset, it was very, very cold. From what we could tell of their reviews, we "stole the show"."

A decent quality audience recording exists from this show.
