Bailey And Southside - Phil Collen Interview Quotes

2017 Tour With Poison

"Absolutely, yeah I don't think they've actually been out on tour since then. So that's gonna be great. It's gonna be a blast."

Problem With Poison?

"Not that I knew of. We get on great. I actually saw them all the other day, they're great. I've never even heard of that, someone else said that the other day and it's like, no. Never even heard of that. We get on great and always have done."

Touring With KISS

"We've got on great with all the bands that have opened up for us and we've opened up for. You find even when someone's a diva or something. When they're around another band they kind of, you know, they get in check. We done the Freddie Mercury concert back in the early 90s and everyone was there David Bowie, Elton John, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and backstage there was no preening or anything. Everyone was on their total best behaviour. So you kind of get that because no one wants to come over as being THAT guy. You know especially in front of everyone one else. No divas that day."

"The best, most professional thing. We actually went out with KISS. And what was an amazing thing. It was circling the wagons and both bands just trying to make sure that the show. You know with both bands was a success. So you had everyone pulling together. You had road crews working for the other band and stuff like that. I've never really seen it happen like that. So that was pretty amazing I gotta say and that doesn't always happen. You know the show was the king if you like. It wasn't any individual or any individual band. Everyone pulled together on it and it made the whole thing a success. So that was nice. You kind of wish that people would do that in other areas of their life as well."

"But again we're lucky that we actually get on with most people."

When Will The Band Retire?

"Well I kinda did when I was 29 and we'd just released Hysteria and I thought. Well, you know, we'll see how this is gonna go. And well 30 years later not even a chance of stopping. So yeah we've got a lot more gas in the tank and I think as long as we have and we have something to say, songs to write and wanting to go on tour. Then we're gonna keep going. So no, I think there's a lot of bands that have kind of fallen by the wayside and we're actually just getting stronger by the fact that more bands disappear. So we got - we're on a mission."
