99.7/K100 Classic Rock - Phil Collen Interview Quotes

Producing The Tesla Album

"Well I'm in Northern California as we speak because I'm producing the new Tesla album. I'm in Sacramento at the moment. We've actually known each other 30 years and we've been working on this album for the last year while we've been on tour together. It's thrilling, this record's sounding amazing. So everyone's like really excited about it because it's just so diverse. You know described as the rock version of Sgt. Pepper. So it just kind of got so much going for it. The songs are great, the performances, everything is just so really, really exciting. So yeah buzzing about that."

"I think it'll be coming out like some time in late Summer. You know it's gotta be mixed and it's gotta be mastered and all that good old stuff. But they'll probably be some singles released before that. So keep your ears open."

Live From Detroit DVD

"Yeah again we kept getting people on the last tour, last year. Saying this is the best we've ever seen you. Kept saying it like a broken record. We've seen you in the 80s and 90s and this is absolutely the next you've sounded, the best the show's looked, everything. So we thought it was time to update our concert footage you know. So we had a thing a DVD - actually it was a VHS in the 80s. In The Round-In Your Face. So we just thought it was a good thing to update that and record a show. So we chose Detroit because that was one of the first shows to sell out and it turned out spectacular. So we're really excited about that as well. So a lot going on."

Delta Deep Second Album/Live Album

"Absolutely. Delta Deep my other band with Robert DeLeo from Stone Temple Pilots on bass and Debbi Blackwell-Cook on vocals and Forrest Robinson on drums. We're gonna start recording our second album. I don't know when we're gonna get a chance to do - we've already started, we've actually got some of the songs. We've also got a live album that we recorded last year and that'll be coming out later this year."
