Brando/102.3 WBAB - Phil Collen Interview Quotes

The Current 2016 Tour

"Actually it's even getting crazier. This current tour we're doing now. This leg that we're doing for some bizarre reason has really inspired some people losing their minds. It's great. So yeah we're obviously doing something - I think you know we do work hard at it and we have fun with it and I think that kind of translates. It's just great to see that that's working as well and people are really enjoying it."

The Man Enough Promo Video/Difference To Before?

"Well a lot of difference yeah. I mean the price tag. Back in the day with MTV. People were like clamouring to, you know record companies, to get their stuff on there. One of our videos cost like 400 grand. You know and these days it's just lie a band couldn't make that on a record sale let alone anything else. So it was valid for that time period. When MTV was kind of ruling and it really made a big difference."

"But now it's kind of nice to be able to represent a song without you know going into huge debt and stuff like that. Actually have something that just kind of comes out. So yeah with the technology and you know some clever thinking people you can actually do really cool videos and that and it's a lot cheaper."

"This guy Frank Gryner done the last three videos. They've been amazing. They've followed a theme and you know this very kind of Tron, futuristic type style videos and that. And yeah we're loving him. He's great. He does a really good job and they've turned out amazing."

"So yeah it's a lot different again because it's a different motivation. The reason for doing them is a lot different you know. If someone had of told us about YouTube or computers. We'd have said what's this? Black magic?. You know back then. We still had television sets and cable and stuff like that. So this is all before even dial up. So it's just where it's gone. It's pretty amazing."

The Live Show

"We're a rock band and we have all these classic songs. We're actually - We're an amazing live band. That's one of the best things - you know the vocals are real and everything's just played. And it's just got an excitement that kind of generates. So anyone seeing that for the first time - there's not many bands that do that."
