Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell has been interviewed by Icon vs Icon and again mentioned new album plans for 2017.

Vivian talked about the Last In Line Heavy Crown album, their future plans, his career in music, the DL tour break, Joe's health, new album plans for 2017 and a new Riverdogs album.

Vivian says he's almost certain that Def Leppard will write and record another studio album in 2017.

As mentioned on 3rd April and something that's he's been saying in many recent interviews. Alongside the expected news of the band not touring heavily in 2017.

It looks increasingly likely that early 2017 may be when the proposed VIVA! Pyromania residency will take place. Followed by these new recording sessions. Vivian of course being the band member who first hinted at the VIVA! Hysteria shows in August 2012 before they were announced in November of that year.

Icon vs Icon - Vivian Campbell Interview Quotes

New Def Leppard Album Recording In 2017

"Ya know, I do like to have a lot going on! Def Leppard, we worked a lot last year. We have a fairly busy year this year, as well. We probably won’t play too many live shows with Leppard, if any, in 2017. However, we almost certainly will go back into the studio and make another album. That is certainly going to keep me busy! As I said, I don’t know what is going to happen with Last In Line to be honest. I am enjoying it but I was enjoying it a lot more until Jimmy passed away. It has put us at this peculiar kind of crossroads."

Joe Elliott/Def Leppard Tour Break

"Yeah, Joe saw a couple of doctors when we were doing shows in February. The second doctor he saw put a scope down his throat and told him he needed to stop singing immediately or he was going to do permanent damage. That is why we had to unfortunately postpone a few weeks of shows that we will be making up in May. The good news is that it doesn’t require surgery and just requires rest, so he will be fine! He will be grand!"
