There are 8 days to go until Def Leppard begin their 2011 UK Tour with Motley Crue in Birmingham.
The fourth UK headline tour by Def Leppard took place in 1987/1988 over two legs to promote the 'Hysteria' album. The band played 17 sold out shows across the UK and Ireland through August/September 1987 just as 'Hysteria' reached number one in the charts helped by the singles 'Animal' and 'Pour Some Sugar On Me'.
The band started and ended this leg in Sheffield and also played three nights at Hammersmith Odeon in London. At the last of these shows Brian May joined them for an encore of Queen classic 'Now I'm Here'.
The ten date 1988 leg marked the first time the band played headline arena shows in England in both London and Birmingham.
