The first show by the band in this city since September 1987 on the first UK Hysteria tour.
The first time at this venue and first of two nights.
The venue is located in the Wembley Park area of North West London and stands next to the 90,000 capacity Wembley Stadium on the same complex.
It was opened in July 1934 as the Empire Pool and is the second largest currently used arena in London after The O2.
The venue was renovated in 2005 to 2006 and reopened on 2nd April 2006 with an increased capacity and with the main front entrance moved from the East side of the venue to the West.
In 1978 the name was changed to Wembley Arena and then to The SSE Arena, Wembley in 2014.
With Bournemouth being a smaller venue this was the band's first headline arena show in England.
Phil Collen had previously played here with Girl supporting KISS in September 1980. Joe had appeared here at an Elton John show in December 1985.
European support act M.S.G. had supported Whitesnake here earlier in the year - with future Leppard Vivian Campbell.
A very good audience recording exists of this show.
At this time the venue still had the floor seating in place for rock shows instead of the normal standing areas.
'Don't Shoot Shotgun' was played in place of 'Let It Go' taking the number of 'Hysteria' album songs played to 7 alongside 7 from 'Pyromania'.
