The first show by the band in this city October 1979 on the Slade support tour.

The second time at this venue and third visit to Wolverhampton.

Another show on the On Through The Night UK and World tour with Magnum and local/young acts in support.

The venue is located in the city centre.

It was opened in May 1938 and expanded in 2001.

The opener for this show was Jameson Raid a New Wave Of British Heavy Metal band from Birmingham who would also open the show in their home city later in the tour.

They were active from 1975 to 1983 and have reformed as of 2018. Vocalist Terry Dark still fronts the band who in 1980 also featured - Ian Smith (guitar), John Ace (bass) and Phil Kimberley (drums). They had released two EPs - 'Seven days Of Splendour' (1979) and 'End Of Part One' (1980).
