  • Location / Oxford, England
  • Venue / New Theatre / Apollo Theatre Oxford

The first show by the band in this city.

The first time at this venue.

Another show on the On Through The Night UK and World tour with Magnum and local/young acts in support.

The venue is located in the city centre not far from the University Of Oxford.

It was originally opened in 1836 but the current building was opened in February 1934.

The venue was also known as the Apollo Theatre Oxford between 1977 and 2003 but was listed as the "New Theatre" both time the band played here.

This show was recorded for an intended Live EP which was then scrapped.

The recording would eventually be mixed and released in 2020 on 'The Early Years 79-81' box set to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the 'On Through The Night' album release.

'Ride Into The Sun' was added as an extra encore song and likely due to the concert being recorded.
