DEF LEPPARD's PHIL COLLEN To Release MANRAZE Lock Stock & Barrel 5 CD Box Set

Manraze 2026. Manraze/By Kelly Burns/dltourhistory

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen's side band Manraze have just announced a new 5 CD box set to be released in May.

Two studio albums featuring Phil Collen will be released again.

Manraze Lock, Stock & Barrel Box Set

Following the April 2025 reissue of their albums on streaming services and YouTube, Manraze have now announced a career spanning box set.

The 'Lock, Sotck & Barrel (Complete Recordings 2008-2011)' box set is released on Cherry Red Records on Friday 29th May 2026.

The same label as the digital reissues.

The box will include the first two studio albums 'Surreal' from 2008 and 2011's 'PunkFunkRootsRock'.

The only two albums to be released by the band that existed from 2004 to 2013.

The first activity and release from the band since November 2013's 'I Surrender The E.P.'.

Three Extra Discs

Disc three features 11 instrumental versions of songs from both albums and the 2013 single 'I Surrender'.

Disc Four features a mix of of electric and acoustic performances including the Mates Studios private show in 2008.

Their debut show at The Spitz in London in September 2005 and a few songs from the UK tour in December 2008 in London.

Six acoustic songs fill out this disc including some from radio sessions and the 2007 Gary Crowley Presents TV series.

Disc Five might be the most interesting part of the box set with some previously unreleased material.

This includes one song from the original 'Surreal' album tracklisting shared by Simon Laffy with this site in February 2005 - the aptly titled 'Original Sin'.

An instrumental version of this song is also featured on disc 3.

A previosly unknown song called 'Get Up (Dance)' - which appears to be a dance mix along with another dance mix of 'Low'.

'Immaculate' is another new title not heard of before and never included on any previous tentative tracklisting.

Seemingly the only thing not included is a second track from the original 'Surreal' track list called 'I Can't Live Without You'.

Best Of Album News 2016

You may recall...as far back as March/April 2016 Phil mentioned in some Def Leppard interviews that Manraze were planning a Best Of album.

This would feature a mix of songs from the two studio albums, but now ten years later, it will be a five CD box set.

In June 2015 Simon Laffy and Paul Cook played with Phil on the Delta Deep song 'Black Coffee' - their last recording together.

Manraze 2026.

Manraze Box Seet Details

Super group formed by Def Leppard’s Phil Collen, Sex Pistols’ Paul Cook and Girl’s Simon Laffy.

The complete recordings by this short lived power trio.

Expanded artwork features new essay by esteemed rock journalist Jerry Ewing.

Super Group? A term too often applied to bands that don’t fully live up to the expectations that such descriptions might suggest.

Not so with Manraze, a genuine super group comprising of Def Leppard’s Phil Collen on lead guitar and vocals, his former band-mate in NWOBHM-era glam rockers Girl, bassist Simon Laffy, and legendary Sex Pistols drummer, Paul Cook.

After selling millions of albums and singles between them, 2004 found the three Londoners joining forces to form Manraze, a modern rudeboy mixture of punk, rock and reggae.

The band released the limited edition EP 'Skin Crawl' in 2005, and issued their debut album ‘SURREAL’ (CD1) in 2008 via VH1 Classic Records.

‘SURREAL’ was released in the US and the UK to rave critical reviews, comparing the band to The Police, Foo Fighters and The Clash. On a roll, in August 2011, Manraze released their second album, the aptly titled ‘PUNKFUNKROOTSROCK’ (CD2), named after a quip from Paul Cook when describing the band’s eclectic sound.

The second album paid homage to their many musical influences throughout the years, and was unleashed amid high expectations that it aptly rose to.

A diabolically clever cover of Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Fire’ is among a catchy and eclectic set of tunes, instant classics that permeate the album.

The 12 tracks highlighted Manraze’s re-emergence into the rock/dub/soul music scene as three powerful musicians who possess the energetic prowess, aggressive live genius, and the wide ranging diversity of prototype artists like Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, U2, Nirvana, Sex Pistols, Def Leppard, and many others who have left their indelible marks on musical history.

This collection of complete recordings is fleshed out with live recordings, acoustic sets, instrumentals and various rarities.

It also features new liner notes from Classic Rock journalist and Prog magazine editor, Jerry Ewing based on recent interviews with the band.
