The venue is located to the East of the main city centre within the NEC Exhibition Centre complex of venues and halls and close to the Birmingham International Airport.
It was opened in December 1980 and initially known as Hall 7 and then Birmingham International Arena.
From 1983 to 2008 it became the NEC Arena, LG Arena from 2008 to 2014, Genting Arena from 2014 to 2018 and is now the Resorts World Arena.
It was renovated in 2008 to 2009.
In September 2008 this venue became known as the LG Arena, from 2015 to 2018 in was renamed as Genting Arena and then from 2018 to 2024 it was Resorts World Arena.
A 19 song setlist was played and Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme joined the band again as a guest during 'Slang' in a Union Jack shirt.
