Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott has said the band are currently writing new music on the 2017 tour.
Joe Elliott spoke to Bob And Coe ahead of the San Diego, CA show.
Joe talked about his time off, the current 2017 tour, touring with Poison/Tesla, new music, the 1983 San Diego stadium show and Down 'n' Outz.
He mentions the band are still working on new music, which may or may not be for a full album, E.P. or single release in 2018 (according to Phil Collen's recent interviews).

Bob And Coe Show - Joe Elliott Interview Quotes
Tour Break/2017 US Tour
"I'm very well thank you. A little domestic time with the family before we go back out and do what we do once more. No, actually I'm in California just chilling out. I didn't wanna fly home for 15 days you know the jet lag and stuff is not worth the effort. I thought I'm just gonna hang. We are worldly wise. We are also spread all over the world."
"I could travel round the rest of my life for free."
San Diego Show
"That's why Fridays and Saturdays are so important. Sometimes we do go when are we playing such and such and if it's a Monday night we're like going 'Oh god'. You know but it turns out that once you get through the doors a Monday night becomes Friday night anyway."
Touring With Poison/Tesla
"We get on great with all these guys. We always like to tour with people that are easy to tour with. There's nothing worse than backstage politics you know and luckily we don't have any. We pretty much all share the same management. So everybody knows how to play the game and everybody has got their part to play. And everybody that's on this tour is just slightly - it's not just an 80s nostaglia tour. It really isn't."
New Def Leppard Music
" Tesla have got a new album coming out. And we are still kind of actively promoting or at least taking round the world the new record and the new DVD which showcases old and new. So it gets us out of that nostalgia kind of orbit that a lot of bands find themselves in."
"But at the same time as artist we feel very stifled not being given the opportunity to once every three, four, five years or whatever put a new album out. Look at the history of Def Leppard. We had an album out in '83. The next one came out August '87. The next one came out like May '92 (oh no it didn't...). You know what I mean. We've done the five year thing all our lives. So for us to put a record out every five years is no big deal to us."
"You know it keeps us fresh and we've always got a head full of ideas and you know. You walk into the dressing room when Phil or Sav or Viv is playing a riff and you got 'What's that?' and 'I don't know, it's just this thing.' and you go 'Record it, that's cool'. And it goes into the bucket as we like to call it. You know for later reference."
