- Location / Sacramento, CA, USA
- Venue / Cal Expo Amphitheatre @ California Exposition
The first show by the band in this city since September 1992 on the indoor leg of the tour.
The second time at this venue and festival.
The venue was located within the California Exposition grounds which are 4.5 miles North East of Sacramento city centre.
It was opened in 1983.
The venue closed in 1998.
The 11,569 capacity Papa Murphy's Park stadium now stands in its place.
Joe and Phil were interviewed by MTV USA who filmed a short 2 minute News Report from this show, the first show in the USA since the August 1992 to April 1993 indoor In The Round tour leg.
It featured Joe commenting on playing at one end again, with support act Ugly Kid Joe, the new single 'Two Steps Behind' and upcoming 'Retro-Active' album.
Joe Elliott quote - "Everybody's getting along mighty fine I got to admit. You know we're having a ball. We're out on the road. What can you not be enjoying about it?."
Joe Elliott quote - "Summer time touring is great. Shorts, shirts, no shoes. I can kind of walk round half naked which is much better than wearing coats and hats and gloves. Which is what we did for the majority of the Adrenalize tour which was August till April."
Joe Elliott quote - "That was all In the Round as well. This time round we're doing it outdoors at one end which is a whole new aspect."
Phil Collen quote - "It's a lot more basic there's no lasers or anything. It's just the band."
Joe Elliott quote - "It's nice to go out with a band 'cause the entire In The Round tour of America was An Evening With Def Leppard. It was very insular. It was just us and the crew and us and the crew. This time we've got a support act and it's nice to see them go down real well and then you have to go out there and work a bit harder."
Clips of 'Another Hit And Run', 'Armageddon It/Black Betty Intro', 'Rocket' and 'Two Steps Behind' were included from this show. A clip of 'Armageddon It' from the 13th August 1992 show in Chicago, IL were also included.
