Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott appears on the new Record Store Day release of Ian Hunter's Defiance Part 2 Fiction album.

The regular edition of the album 'Defiance Part 2: Fiction' was released yesterday, Friday 19th April, via Sun Records.

Featuring the singles 'Precious' and 'People'.

Defiance Part 2: Fiction Record Store Day

A 2LP coloured vinyl edition of the album has been released today for Record Store Day featuring three exclusive extra tracks.

Joe On Bonus Track

Joe is featured on 'How’d Ya Like To Meet Henry' with some added guests.

Joe With Pearl Jam

This song also features Matt Cameron (drums) and Mike McCready (guitars).

As with 'Precious' which saw Joe on a studio recording for the first time with Brian May this song also sees another first.

Joe is featured on a song with members of Pearl Jam for the first time.

Mike McCready Def Leppard Fan

Guitarist Mike McCready revealed a Def Leppard fan story during the promo interviews for Pearl Jam's October 2013 album 'Lightning Bolt'.

He told a story of meeting the band at their hotel in 1983 to get their autographs.

Although today marks 41 years since a Seattle show with Bily Squier, the story he refers to was probably in August 1983.

A headline show at Seattle Center Arena on the main headline leg of the Pyromania tour.

Def Leppard T-Shirt/Phil Collen

Mike McCready actually has a deeper connection to Def Leppard as a fan and to Phil.

In March 2015 Mike launched his own record label HockeyTalkTer Records and Phil Collen was mentioned in the news story.

This news blurb reveals Phil Collen appeared on a song with Mike and a band called The Young Evils.

"She was followed by The Young Evils, whose HockeyTalkter single includes a cover of Def Leppard’s “Bringin’ on The Heartbreak,” with McCready sitting in."

"They also recorded another song with Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen — but McCready is waiting for the rights to release that".

Both songs remain unreleased.

Joe Elliott With Eddie Vedder

The other Pearl Jam/Def Leppard connections include Joe performing with Eddie Vedder during The Who 50th Anniversary show in November 2014.

The show took place at the Shepherd's Bush Empire and was in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Joe sang lead vocals on 'Love Reign O'er Me' and later sang backing vocals on 'Listening To You' where Eddie Vedder took lead vocals.

As you can see from the photos below Joe interacted with Eddie on stage and was pictured with him during the show rehearsals the day before.

The only known time a member of Def Leppard performed on stage with a member of Pearl Jam.

Pearl Jam coincidentally released their 12th studio album 'Dark Matter' on 19th April.

And it's probably their best in over 20 years including some great guitar solos from Mike.
