DEF LEPPARD/VIVIAN CAMPBELL May Not Be Playing Shows In April 2020

Def Leppard 2018. By dltourhistory

Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell's band mate Vinny Appice was recently interviewed by Boston radio and talked about the 2020 tour.

Vinny spoke to Shawn Sixx of WAAF radio to promote Last In Line.

Vinny was asked about the 2020 Def Leppard tour rumours during his interview.

He mentions he booked a tour of his own in Europe in April because Vivian was due to be busy but is now not busy at that time.

April ties in to recent rumours of a festival appearance in Mexico and Joe stating in October that Def Leppard's 2020 touring would start in April/May. The Domination Mexico festival in scheduled for May 1st/2nd 2020.

It's possible Vinny was suggesting Vivian had something booked or planned with Def Leppard but that's now not happening.

Also he doesn't deny that the 2020 tour with Mötley Crüe is happening. The tour that refuses to be announced...

Listen to the full 30 minute interview below.

The part about the 2020 tour starts at around 25 mins in.

Sixx Strings/Shawn Sixx - Vinny Appice Interview Quotes - (Transcribed by dltourhistory)

Last In Line

"Yeah it's a very tight band and we really have fun playing together and it really gels so well and we're like a machine now, you know, it's really cool. But we're having fun doing it. That's the main thing and that's what makes it come across to the audience. We're having a good time up there."

Mötley Crüe Reformation

"Well yeah but we've been doing this for years. They went out with Journey, yeah 'cause it's no big deal. I won't even comment on what I know about that. And a tour like that doesn't last as long as you would think because just think about all those guys together, you know what I mean."

"It's most likely could be, who knows, 'cause you know Summer or whatever, play festivals and get it over with."

"Yeah they might do three shows and then they break up again and then tour gets all screwed up who knows."

Def Leppard 2020 Tour/April 2020

"But no we've been dealing with the schedules with everybody. You know 'cause I'm going to Europe in April because I thought Viv was busy, but then he's got a couple more weeks off in April but I can't cancel my tour. So we deal with each other's schedules so it's not a problem."

"Yeah we all get it, we all work together. You know Phil does things in Vegas at the Rock Vault show. Andy's doing a little show in Vegas too. So we work around everything you know. And then that gives us a little bit more time to do our own thing and then, you know, keep this going at the same time."
