Phil Collen On Def Leppard's 2016 Tour/New Tesla Album

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen was interviewed by Iowa radio last October and the full audio is available.

Phil spoke to DJ Shawn Foxx of 105.7 KOKZ Iowa's Classic Hits radio in Waterloo, IA.

Phil talked about the 2016 Summer Tour, producing Tesla, Save That Goodness, current DEF LEPPARD album, changes in the music industry, the band working hard, younger audiences, his Adrenalized autobiography, Delta Deep albums/touring, working out/fitness and being a vegetarian.

Phil mentioned how well the 2016 tour had been going with just a few days of it left to play and gave updates on the still forthcoming Tesla/Delta Deep releases.

Phil was promoting the 10th October show in Cedar Rapids, IA which ended the 2016 tour.

2016 US Tour

"I mean the whole tour has just been phenomenal. It's just been gaining momentum. It's like snowballing, definitely and we're at the avalanche stage right now it's great. So everyone's just having a vibe you know all the shows, especially lately we played the Tacoma Dome last week and Minneapolis/St. Paul Xcel Center last night and it was just phenomenal. Just the audience reaction has just been really crazy."

Producing The Tesla Album

"Absolutely yeah we find a room like backstage and usually record guitars or bass and then we get to a studio, when we get enough time, and we just go back to their studio in Sacramento and do live drums and vocals. So we got like 13 songs pretty much started. They're all at different degrees of being finished. So and it's really exciting you know I think it's the best album that Tesla have done. They actually think so as well. So we're really excited about it and that'll be out next year."

"And obviously the new single. They've got a new single that I done actually last year we started that. That just come out as a bonus track on their live album Save That Goodness Four Yourself. So that's out there as well and they're playing it live. I actually join them onstage when they play it live. I get to play with two bands every night."

Delta Deep/Live Album

"We got a live album in the can and that should be coming out either late this year or very early next year."
