The first time at this venue.

The venue is located on Beford Row in the city centre which is close to the River Shannon.

It was opened in December 1935 s a cinema and was often listed on tickets as Savoy Cinema or Savoy Limerick.

From 1966 to March 1988 it hosted major concerts.

The venue was closed down in 1988 and then demolished in 1989.

Future collaborators the Hothouse Flowers had played the venue on 2nd August.

The building featured a second smaller venue called the Top Floor with Freelance playing here in this room on the same day as the Def Leppard show.

The third of six Irish warm-up shows to prepare for the upcoming Monsters Of Rock festival tour.

Rick played the first three songs on his own with Status Quo drummer Jeff Rich joining in after that for the rest of the show.
