Show Intro

"Greetings my fellow music lovers and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the magnificent Planet Rock. Coming to you this week all the way from London. Yes I'm in the UK. We are ramping up for some serious work. Fr the next six, seven weeks we're gonna be all over Europe, all over the UK and Ireland. And it's gonna be fantastic. Now tonight is a landmark show for me. I will explain after you've heard this."

Iron Maiden

"What a way to open the landmark show that tonight's show is. And why is it a landmark show?. Because it's my is my 666th show for Planet Rock. Who else was I gonna start my show with. Other than our good buddies Iron Maiden. Title track of the album The Number Of The Beast."

Note - Joe says 666 but if you count on from the 12th February 2022 (when he said it was his 600th show) on the calendar that makes this one #665. 46 more shows in 2022 plus 19 this year = 65.

The Stooges

"So keeping things evil this has got to be one of the most evil guitar sounds ever recorded. Featuring the legend that is Iggy Pop This is The Stooges."

"And before that I played The Stooges because Duff has been moonlighting with Iggy Pop. And the video I saw just a couple of days ago also featured Slash. On the song that we just heard I Wanna Be Your Dog."

Guns N Roses

"So you may have read over the last couple of days that Duff McKagan has released a new EP called This Is The Song. Which is all tied in with support for Mental Heath Awareness Month. Something that Def Leppard have got on board with and helped spread through our socials. Great cause. Great guy. Worth doing. Hoping to play the song next week. But just until then though I'd play you his band that's Guns N Roses. Taken from the album Use Your Illusion I. Right Next Door To Hell."

Cheap Trick

"Right let's move right along from evil to nursery rhymes. Hickory dickory dock. This is Cheap Trick."

"And before that Cheap Trick but with a bit of a twist. I got the permission to play this 'cause I don't think it's ever been officially released. From Robin Zander and Rick Neilsen. Yes it's from the album In Colour, but it was re-recorded a few decades back now with Steve Albini. The Albini Sessions it's called. If it has been officially released I've missed it. But it's a great rework of the track Clock Strikes Ten."

Ian Hunter

"Well I did warn you that I was gonna be playing tracks off this new Ian Hunter album for the next month or ten. It's a wonderful album and yet another song to feature Duff McKagan as a guest. As well as the late great Taylor Hawkins on drums. The song is Angel. Fantastic song that it is too."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming to you from the home of Planet Rock, London. Coming up we're gonna get all rebellious with John Miles."

John Miles

"And before that John Miles from his debut album way back in 1976. The album is called Rebel. The song we heard Pull The Damn Thing Down."

Whitesnake

"The Whitesnake choir in full voice right there. from the 2023 remix of the album Good To Be Bad. We just heard Lay Down Your Love."

KISS

"And talking of remixes here's one that goes all the way back to 2012. This is KISS."

"And before that we heard KISS. The album Destroyer. Resurrected, remixed in 2012. The song that we heard Flaming Youth."

Judas Priest

"Featuring Rob Halford in all his leather whipped glory. Ooer missus. That is Judas Priest. A hit single for them back in I think it was about 1979. These days you can find it as a bonus track on the album Killing Machine. The song is Evening Star."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as always. . Let me know one way or the other. I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time all the way from up the M1 in Sheffield where we will have just done The Leadmill gig. And getting ready for the big one at Bramall Lane.

"Until then I shall leave you with this. From the album Fandango. This is ZZ Top and Tush. Till next week see ya!."
