JOE ELLIOTT Says DEF LEPPARD To Have Era Specific Setlist/Surprises In 2024

Def Leppard 2024

Def Leppard today confirmed a new 2024 tour of North American stadiums and Joe Elliott spoke about upcoming plans.

The band are set to go out on another huge tour in 2024.

And among the tour dates and tour info were a couple of interesting quotes from Joe in the press release.

These hint at a surprise coming in 2024 and perhaps something a little different/interesting happening with the setlist.

The Summer Stadium Tour 2024

The Summer Stadium Tour was announced earlier today by Def Leppard and Journey.

23 cities (so far) are included in a tour that will run from early July to early September.

Era Specific Setlist/New Staging

When speaking about the tour Joe mentioned that the setlist will - "celebrate specific parts of our history".

You could say it does already but perhaps he is hinting at something a bit more structured by different eras.

As well as saying there will be a "new stage" he also said they - "may even have a surprise or two up our sleeves."

Setlist related perhaps or maybe another release of some kind:

A New Audio Release

If Joe is hinting at a musical release it could include the cover of David Bowie's 'Heroes'.

Or perhaps even more new music which the band talked about after 'Diamond Star Halos' was released.

Joe and Phil mentioned one almost completed song left over and more songs 'on the go'.

Plus recording taking place on The Stadium Tour and when talking about 'Drastic Symphonies' that they had new songs that definitely would not have worked with an orchestra.

Another new album almost ready?.

Video Releases/20/20 Vision (?)

In late 2020 the band cancelled their scheduled '20/20 Vision' tour and did not get around to announcing the planned updated/remastered video releases series of the same name.

Believed to include (finally) the full Sheffield Don Valley video and upgrades of the previous classic VHS era releases/promo videos.

Also potentially due for release is a Live CD/DVD/Blu-ray release of the Sheffield Bramall Lane show filmed in May 2023.

Fourth Box Set

The Box Set Collection series is also possible as it was announced to be a four volume set with three already released so far.
