Def Leppard played a Summer Stadium Tour 2024 show last night in Phoenix, AZ with 18 songs performed.

The show took place at the 48,519 capacity Chase Field.

The first show in this city since August 2022.

The first time at this venue.

Phoenix Pyromania

The Summer Stadium Tour returned after a three day break for the band.

To the extreme heat of Arizona.

Up to 42C/108F in Phoenix as the show kicked off, at least outside.

Fortunately the roof was closed so the band and the crowd were protected from the excessive heat outside (or so it seemed).

A first show here since August 2022 or technically since 2018.

The 2022 show played 18 miles from Phoenix in nearby Glendale.

Chase Field just as massive looking inside as some of the other recent 'retractable roof covered' venues.

As Rick promised before show time there was rock!

A Hot One In Arizona

The Steve Miller Band and Journey (they get along on stage at least) opened the show as ever.

And some fans online mentioned that perhaps the crowd were not as protected from the heat as you would think.

At least one saying the AC was not on and some fans needed medical treatment.

Def Leppard started their show at 9:30pm and Joe later referenced the heat himself.

This show was "a hot one, but a good one" in his words before 'Two Steps Behind'.

He also said it was a loud one and this could be heard on the various live broadcasts throughout the show.

Not as many as San Antonio but still a few good ones with the Hysteria ending of the title track and 'PSSOM' shown LIVE by many fans (Sav wearing an Arizona Diamondbacks baseball shirt).

Confirming this was indeed another hot show with a very loud crowd.

And in another huge building that made the stage look tiny.

A sold out crowd of over 40,000 fans with Joe impressed by the view at the end of the show.

Impressed enough to declare it "Unbelievable" and "an amazing night".

Under Fire In Phoenix

'Comin' Under Fire' returned to the set having been left out at the last show.

Just one day off until they return to SoFi Stadium for another indoor stadium show.

18 Song Setlist

An 18 song setlist was played.

'Just Like '73' and 'Comin' Under Fire' were played in this city for the first time.

Phoenix History

The first visit to Phoenix took place in June 1980 at Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum on their debut American tour.

In 1992 the band played one of its two known New Year's Eve shows at America West Arena on the Adrenalize tour using the In The Round stage.

The last visit was in August 2022 on The Stadium Tour with Motley Crue at State Farm Stadium with Def Leppard also closing the night.

Last night's show was the 21st overall performance in the Phoenix area.

The next Def Leppard show takes place in Los Angeles, CA on 25th August.
