Def Leppard played a Summer Stadium Tour 2024 show last night in Los Angeles, CA with 18 songs performed.

The show took place at the 70,240 capacity SoFi Stadium.

The first show in this city since June 2024.

The second time at this venue.

LA Pyromania

The Summer Stadium Tour returned to California.

Just over two months since the band's first full show of the year for SiriuXM in the same city.

That show saw the live debut of 'Comin' Under Fire' after 41 years and in front of only 70 fans.

This venue is slightly bigger with a full capacity for sports events of just over 70,000.

A capacity crowd of 43,210 saw the band play, in Phil Collen's opinion, one of the best shows of their career here in August 2022.

Two years ago tomorrow in fact when the band played before Motley Crue on The Stadium Tour.

This show saw a return to the stadium that sits on the same complex as the old L.A Forum now known at KIA Forum.

Where Joe, Phil and Sav performed for the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert a month after that show.

It was also the arena where the band recorded it's first released live album over two nights in September 1983 on the Pyromania tour.

So last night the Pyromania returned to Los Angeles.

Billy's Got A Gun

The Steve Miller Band opened at 6pm to be followed by Journey.

The sun set as they ended their show in darkness before it was time for the Pyro Clock countdown.

Just like the 2022 show many fans posted photos and video clips from this show.

There were also many great fan broadcasts throughout the night.

The crowd were singing along loudly right from the start and up into the Pyromania section.

Where this time 'Billy's Got A Gun' returned to be played once more in Los Angeles.

Happy Birthday Vivian Campbell

And then it was on to the acoustic section.

And one band member knew what was coming.

Yes, Joe told the crowd it was Vivian's birthday introducing him as the 'birthday boy' and getting the crowd to sing that familiar song.

Vivian raising him arms up to acknowledge the crowd as they sang to him.

Joe also got slightly tongue tied during this part as you can read below and see in the Fan Videos.

After the celebrations it was down to the last hits section with the four big ones in a row and ending as ever with a rousing PSSOM.

The ending captured live by fans and showing clearly another great night was had on this tour.

The 20th night in fact on The Summer Stadium Tour.

Up next a move up further north in California to the home of Journey.

Although unlike 2018 they will not be closing this one out as Def Leppard will end the night as they did in 2022 with Motley Crue.

18 Song Setlist

An 18 song setlist was played.

'Just Like '73' was played in this city for the first time.

Los Angeles History

The first visit to Los Angeles took place in September 1983 on the Pyromania tour for two shows at the L.A. Forum.

SoFi Stadium was played in August 2022 on The Stadium Tour with Motley Crue.

The second show in Los Angeles in 2024 after the SiriusXM event in June which was broadcast in audio/video form by the station.

Last night's show was the 15th overall performance in Los Angeles.

Although as Joe said before TSB technically Santa Monica is in Los Angeles so they did play the local area in May 1980.

They also played Santa Monica in 1981 so you could add two shows to that total making it 17.

The next Def Leppard show takes place in San Francisco, CA on 28th August.
