DEF LEPPARD x JOURNEY Tour In BOISE, ID (Show Report)

Def Leppard played another show with Journey on the 2018 North American tour last night in Boise, ID with 16 songs performed.

The show took place at the 12,279 capacity Ford Idaho Center Arena.

The band last played Boise on 28th September 2016 on the Summer Tour 2016.

The 10th show the band have played in Boise (or Nampa) and the fourth time at this venue.

The first visit to Boise was in October 1981 at the State University Gym with Blackfoot on the High 'n' Dry tour.

They returned to the Boise State University as headliners in July 1988 during the Hysteria tour to play an In The Round show at B. S. U. Pavilion with Tesla in support.

The same venue was played again in September 1992 on the Adrenalize tour for a second In The Round show.

When they returned in September 2000 it was at Nampa's outdoor Idaho Center Amphitheater on the Euphoria tour.

Three years later they played the Bank Of America Centre on the X/Ten tour in September 2003.

Three shows in a row then took place at the Idaho Center Arena in Nampa in September 2006, April 2008 and September 2011.

The band returned after 24 years to the B.S.U. Pavilion in September 2016 under its new name of Taco Bell Arena.

The dimensions of the Ford Idaho Center Arena meant the crew could not hang the three moveable video screens at this show (as seen in the photo below). The second time these screens have not been used at all after the rescheduled Albuquerque show. They were held in place at the top of the stage for the whole of the San Francisco stadium show.

As seen in the fan photos the roof of this venue is quite low which could account for them not being able to hang the screens as the normally would.

Joe filmed a video interview alongside Journey's Neal Schon before the show for the Professor Of Rock website. The interviews seem to focus on hit songs.
