DEF LEPPARD To Play 2019 GRASPOP METAL MEETING In Belgium

Def Leppard have been announced to return to Dessel, Belgium for a festival in June 2019 on their UK/European tour.

The fifth show to be announced for the 2019 tour.

Announced in the last hour or so by the organisers of the Graspop Metal Meeting to play on 21st, 22nd or 23rd June 2019.

So far the headliners announced are Slipknot for 22nd June and Within Temptation for 21st June.

Yet another potential 'Hysteria & More' show.

The band's only other appearance here was in June 2008 on the Sparkle Lounge tour when they played a 10 song set below Whitesnake and headliners Judas Priest.

Tickets go on sale from 27th October.

Although Def Leppard has been making music continuously for more than 40 years, the English band clearly does not intend to give it a shot, as evidenced by the title 'The Story So Far' from the compilation album that will be released in November 2018. The quintet broke through with 'High' n 'Dry' in the early 80's and with the following albums 'Pyromania' (1983), 'Hysteria' (1987) and 'Adrenalize' (1992) became one of the most successful hard rock bands ever.

With a delightful combination of classical metal with poppy melodies, catchy hooks and vocal harmonies - sometimes called 'glam metal' by some - the band not only managed to sell more than 100 million records, but also to inspire many other bands.

After the turn of the century it became a bit calmer in the area of new releases, but with their invariably excellent concerts, Def Leppard remains a welcome band at numerous festivals. (# GMM19)
