12 Years Ago DEF LEPPARD Launch YEAH! Album On US TV (Video)

Def Leppard performed live on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on this day in 2006 and footage is available.

The band played on the same day that the 'YEAH!' album was released in North America.

The first live footage seen by fans during the 'YEAH!' era.

They had filmed 'Rock On' for Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show on 19th May but this was not aired until 23rd June.

The band played '20th Century Boy', for the first time ever, and 'Rock On' on the outdoor 'Toyota Concert Series' stage.

Watch the performance of '20th Century Boy' below which was the only song aired on the main show. 'Rock On' was briefly available on the NBC website.

In a first for the band three backup vocalists were used during the T. Rex cover singing the vocals performed on the album by Stevie Vann Lange.

Other guests included Orlando Bloom and Chamillionaire.

This appearance happened just over 10 years after they had played Work It Out on the same show when launching the 'Slang' album. Their very first live network television performance in the USA.

Jay Leno ended his run on the show on 6th February 2014.
