It was opened in February 1995 as Mankato Civic Center.
From 1999 to 2007 it was named as the Midwest Wireless Civic Center.
From 2007 to 2009 it was called Alltel Center and then the Verizon Wireless Center from 2009 to 2017.
From 2017 to 2019 it was called Verizon Center before returning to the name Mankato Civic Center.
In January 2020 it then became the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center.
