This meant Def Leppard and support act Tesla were the first rock bands ever to play the arena.
The venue is located in central Knoxville within the grounds of the University Of Tennessee and near to Neyland Stadium and the Tennessee River.
It was opened in December 1987.
The arena was renovated in 2007.
The next rock band to play the arena was Whitesnake on 12th March 1988 featuring future Lep member Vivian Campbell.
