The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show/Rory Kinnear - 2nd February 2023 Interview Quotes

Zoe Ball - "Also there is singing Rory. Initially karaoke in a pub and then on a big stage. How was that for you?. Is that something you enjoy?."

Rory Kinnear - "Well it said in the script he sings roughly. So I thought that gave me carte blanche to release my pipes."

Rory Kinnear - "And yes a bit of karaoke and then yes singing on a big stage with a rather special guest at the end of the film."

Rory Kinnear - "Which was, if I hadn't been playing Dave and using his natural confidence and charisma to mask my own shyness, would have been overwhelming. But actually it was quite good fun."

Zoe Ball - "It's quite a amazing performance I have to say. Speaking of which let's play some music. If you've seen the film you'll understand - giving nothing away if you've not."

(Pour Some Sugar On Me album version played.)

Zoe Ball - "Ah that's takes me back to being 15. I love Def Leppard. Lots of love to Joe. I don't think he'll be tuned in. Rock and roll stars don't get up at 8:47 do they Rory?."

Zoe Ball - "Rory Kinnear is with us. Def Leppard feature very heavily in Bank Of Dave which is available to watch on Netflix. Can I just say so much love for this film coming in Rory. Have you been feeling that?."

Rory Kinnear - "Yeah it's been incredible. It just seems to have touched something maybe that was people felt missing. Something about caring for your local community. Something about giving back. Something about people looking out for each other."

Rory Kinnear - "And particularly released in quite a bleak cold January. I think it's been a sort of a tonic or pill of warmth that people have been crying out for."

Zoe Ball - "I think there is something wonderful about that story of, you know, someone in the community helping other communities 'cause that's kind of what we need when you look at the news even today. You look at the news and think oh my goodness me. And then a story like this. A story like Dave it's just what we need."

Rory Kinnear - "Someone who themselves has made a bit of money. Have been fortunate enough to live a comfortable life and not forgotten where they came from and who made them. And the people who they knew that needed a bit of a helping hand."

Zoe Ball - "Yeah I know it's such a beautiful story. I watched Bank Of Dave twice. Brilliant film. Can you ask Rory if we can see him on tour with Def Leppard soon? says Steve. Is that happening?."

Rory Kinnear - "Um the boys have been in touch yeah...I'm more a warm up act than with them."

Zoe Ball - "Fantastic. Amanda says I've watched it three times. There we go."

Rory Kinnear - "There we are, there's the hat trick."

Zoe Ball - "We watched Bank Of Dave last weekend it was brilliant. Have recommended it to everyone. Alison from Sheffield."

Zoe Ball - "Jeannine says best film I've seen in a long while. Puts a great big smile on your face."

Zoe Ball - "It really does. There's a love story in there."

Rory Kinnear - "It's a love story. It's funny. It makes you cry. It has music. There's singing."

Zoe Ball - "And the good guy wins out possibly. Watched Bank Of Dave this week best film we've seen in a while says Suzy."
