DEF LEPPARD To Play 3 Songs With BBC Concert Orchestra On Radio 2's PIANO ROOM

Def Leppard have confirmed more details about their performance with the BBC Concert Orchestra on Radio 2's Piano Room show which is broadcast on 18th May.

The new album Drastic Symphonies will be released on Friday 19th May.

The album will feature 16 classic Def Leppard songs reworked and reimagined with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London.

The first single 'Animal' was released to digital and streaming services on the same day as the announcement - listen below.

The World Tour 2023 started in Mexico City on 18th February 2023.

The UK/European leg begins in the band's home city of Sheffield on 22nd May.

BBC Piano Room Performance

As mentioned on 20th April the band will make it's live debut with an orchestra for BBC Radio 2 on 18th May.

The Piano Room show episode for 18th May will be broadcast during the Vernon Kay show who makes his debut on Radio 2.

The Piano Room features artists performing at the historic Maida Vale studios in London with the BBC Concert Orchestra.

3 Songs Confirmed/Press Release

A new press release has been published about the appearance and upcoming episodes featuring more details.

The band have commented on the show and confirmed they will play two Def Leppard songs and one David Bowie cover.

Joe and the band have between them covered over 20 over the years with the latest being 'Heroes' which has been played before recent shows in 2022 and 2023.

First Show With Orchestra

As recently confirmed by the band's Classic Rock interview the band did not perform or record directly with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road in 2022.

Therefore the first show the band will play with an orchestra is with the BBC Concert Orchestra next month.

Return To Maida Vale

The band first played and recorded here in 1979 for their early radio sessions for Andy Peebles and The Friday Rock Show.

The last known time the band recorded a session at these studios was October 1995 during the Vault acoustic promo tour.
