DEF LEPPARD's PHIL COLLEN Teases Big Announcement For This Summer At SXSW

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen appeared at SXSW yesterday and today and teased a big announcement by the band for this summer.

On 13th March Phil performed a short set during a Q and A event including 'Pour Some Sugar On Me'.

Earlier today Phil also appeared on a panel discussion by Vault Comics at Austin Convention Center at 11:30am local time for about 50 minutes.

They were discussing working with Def Leppard on the Headshell series comic book.

This partnership was first announced back in November 2022 along with other bands like Metallica.

The 40 minute discussion focussed on the creative process between the band and Vault Comics as they work on this comic book.

Phil also gave a few Def Leppard updates and was asked about future plans.

Phil then mentioned a big announcement is coming for something happening this summer.

This seems highly likely to tie in with yesterday's teaser video.

Phil's words seem to relate to an event of some kind but obviously there is very little detail revealed so far to tell exactly what this will be.

The teaser video suggests this big announcement is coming very soon whatever it will be for.

It does not seem related to Vault Comics who have still yet to announce anything about this collaboration on their website.

Phil also revealed the Japanese, Australia, Nez Zealand tour leg will be happening in November/December as expected but without actually announcing the dates.

These will likely be announced in the next few weeks/months.

Phil Collen - "We've actually got a really big thing, announcement to make, but I can't say anything about it."

Phil Collen - "So just so much exciting stuff and the comic and everything and graphic novel."
