Def Leppard have teased something new coming soon via a short video posted to social media earlier today.

'Diamond Star Halos' is the band's 12th studio album.

The album was announced on 17th March and was released on Friday 27th May 2022.

And more music could be on the way following a short teaser video posted by the band on social media in the last few hours.

The short clip shows an old style gate which appears to be an entrance to a garden or park but with no music.

Only a short caption - "I burn for you".

Obviously a line from 'Animal' but no other clues given as to what it could be referencing.

What could it be?.

Well there are a few stories posted since Spring 2022 that could give a small hint - if indeed it is music related and not a tour dates announcement hint.

It should also be noted that Nikki Sixx hinted at forthcoming news on his IG stories a couple of days ago - also with no clues given.

And what could be the most likely thing being hinted at - the classic rock band cover version song first mentioned by Joe in Minneapolis 2022.

DEF LEPPARD's JOE ELLIOTT On Next Album/Touring/New Project Coming In 2023

Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott says the band have started their next album and have an unnamed project to reveal very soon.

This project seems to be something different from the mentions of starting the next album and possibly a reference to the new cover version.

DEF LEPPARD's JOE ELLIOTT Reveals New Cover Song To Feature In Upcoming Advert

Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott has revealed a new cover song has been recorded and will be released via an advert.

A new cover song from a classic rock band that Joe said he was recording vocals for in Minneapolis in August 2022. He mentioned it would be for an advert. Phil later referenced recording guitars later in the tour - possibly for this same song.

Joe Elliott - "I'll break a secret here. We are doing a cover of a specific song by a specific band."

Joe Elliott - "For may be a specific advert that might specifically come out one day."

Joe Elliott - "So that's as specific as I'm gonna get."

Joe Elliott - "But I did the vocal. I did the actual demo vocal today. This morning at lunch time on the day of the gig."

Joe Elliott - "I never do that. I never ever in a million years try and sing a "record" vocal on a gig day."

Joe Elliott - "It's just ridiculous. But I was - I had pipes."

DEF LEPPARD's PHIL COLLEN On DIAMOND STAR HALOS/Next Album Already Started

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen was recently interviewed about the new Diamond Star Halos album.

A full new album of original material seems unlikely but there was one almost completed song ready to go from the 'Diamond Star Halos' album sessions.

Phil Collen - "Me and Joe got on such a roll writing for this record, which is essentially a double album, that we still had a few more tracks on hand, one of which we completely finished."

Phil Collen - "That never normally happens when we record an album."

Phil Collen - "We usually use up everything we've got - we could have actually kept going, recording more songs."

Phil Collen - "We seem to have found a new lease of life as a band."

Phil Collen - "We've started working on the next album already."

DEF LEPPARD's VIVIAN CAMPBELL Says Band To Record Again At Abbey Road Studios

Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell has said the band will revisit Abbey Road Studios to record during a new Diamond Star Halos interview.

This news was accidentally leaked by Vivian to a journalist but never mentioned again (...and no, the gate shown is not from these studios).
