DEF LEPPARD's JOE ELLIOTT Shares His 80s Moments On BBC Radio 2 (Transcript/Playlist)

Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott appeared on BBC Radio 2 last night to promote the Pyromania 40th anniversary box set.

The 40th anniversary 'Pyromania 40 Super Deluxe Edition' will be released on Friday 26th April 2024 via Universal Music Recordings.

The release follows a year of band celebrations on social media using the #pyromania40 hashtag and recent video teasers.

Animal Top Of The Pops

Joe appeared last night on the BBC Radio 2 show Sounds Of The 80s and choose four of his best 80 Moments in a pre-recorded segment.

His first was playing 'Animal' on Top Of The Pops which happened in mid August 1987.

And as with a previous interview Joe remembers the 1980 appearance wrongly.

The first Space Shuttle launch was not until April 1981.

Like the unseen 1999 performances it was not shown because the 'Hello America' single did not reach to Top 40 chart which the show concentrated on.

Number 1 Album/Single

Joe also recalled the 'Pyromania' album success in 1983, Love Bites and the 'Hysteria' album reaching Number One in the UK and USA.
