Def Leppard 1983

Two rare Def Leppard photo galleries from Germany have been posted online dating from 1983 and 1993.

The photo galleries contain over 100 rare shots from both the Pyromania and Adrenalize eras.

The first dates from 17th/18th December 1983 when the band played in Dortmund, Germany for the two day RockPop Festival. Footage from German TV was released in remastered for on YouTube earlier this year.

The gallery features live shots from the show at Westfallenhalle in Dortmund as well as three other photo shoots taken before the concert.

One shows Joe wearing his 1983 Union Jack stage gear and posing with a microphone.

The others show the band backstage at the venue posing with their guitars and a separate shoot with Joe wearing one of the band's football kits and Steve, Phil and Rick making funny faces in the background.

A few of these shots have been seen in Germany and American music magazines from the 1983/1984 era but mostly as grainy magazine scans (like the one shown above).

The Adrenalize photos date from a 26th January 1993 appearance on Germany TV show Gottschalk Late Night. They were taken backstage at RTL Studios in Munich when the band were on a mini promo tour in Europe to support the 'Heaven Is' single release.
