DEF LEPPARD Set To Headline STGO Rock City As AEROSMITH Cancel

Def Leppard 2017. STGO Rock City

Def Leppard have been upgraded to headliners at the STGO Rock City festival in Santiago, Chile.

The change is due to Aerosmith cancelling the last four shows of their South American tour due to health issues with singer Steven Tyler.

STGO Rock City festival organisers have now listed Def Leppard as the headline act for the show on 30th September at the 47,000 capacity Estadio Monumental.

In recent weeks both RATT and L.A. Guns disappeared from the line up to be replaced by Marky Ramone and Kervos Del Sur.

Aerosmith issued a statement which can be read below. No exact details about his medical condition were given but it has forced them to call off their scheduled performances.

Another affected show is the Mother Of All festival date in Monterrey, Mexico on 7th October.

Def Leppard may yet be upgraded to the headline slot at this festival as well but this is yet to be confirmed.

This will be the band's first ever show in Chile after cancelling a scheduled show at the same venue in April 1997 on the Slang tour. And due to circumstances they will get to headline this venue after all, 20 years later.

"To everybody in South America....Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Mexico... I'm very sorry and feel like I've let you down... I won't be able to continue the last four shows of this tour. I flew back to the US on doctor's orders last night after the show in São Paulo. Please not to worry... I am not in a life threatening condition, but I need to deal with this right away, and get some rest and medical care immediately in order to sustain and maintain my future performances... I promise I'll be back...unfortunately, health does not wait and it's something even I can't schedule around our shows... As they say, "We humans make plans, and God laughs..." I love you all and will be back with you soon... -Steven Tyler

Thank you all for your understanding and support.
