Live From The Chance - Vivian Campbell Interview Quotes

Def Leppard's Live Show

"The Leppard experience, the live shows are always a lot heavier than the records are you know. I think Def Leppard is a hard rock band at heart and when we do it live we certainly bring that element to it. I mean that's kind of how I play guitar. When go in to play guitar, regardless of the band or the song. I mean I like to be committed. Like I said earlier, Gary Moore was my major, major influence as a kid learning the instrument and Gary never played anything half-assed. You know he played guitar like he wanted to murder. I apply the same approach myself."

Def Leppard's Vocal Sound

"But yeah the Leppard show is great. Obviously it's a very, very different band. The Leppard show is very slick, very produced and we still try and keep it high energy. And the Leppard thing, the vocals are our forte in band . You know for a hard rock band we all sing and we're very, very proud of the fact that we can replicate the vocal thing live you know."

"We really work very hard at it and that's kind of the muscle that I get to exercise more in Def Leppard, and then it's great to have the Last In Line band and have the opportunity to actually exercise your guitar muscle a bit more like I used to back in DIO days."

"So I'm very, very fortunate in my work you know that I get to scratch both of those itches."
