  • Location / Manchester, England
  • Venue / Manchester Apollo/Apollo Theatre

The first show by the band in this city since July 1981 on the High 'n' Dry tour.

The fifth time at this venue.

The opening night of the first UK Pyromania tour leg.

The band were now joined on the tour by young female band Rock Goddess who, like Def Leppard a few years earlier, were still teenagers.

They were supporting their new single called 'My Angel' and featured of sisters Jody Turner (guitars/vocals), Julie Turner (drums) and Dee O'Malley (bass).

The venue is located to the south west of the city centre.

It was opened in August 1938 as the Apollo theatre which was its name until 1962 (and again in 2010).

It was then named as the Manchester Apollo from 1962 to 2003 before becoming the Carling Apollo Manchester until 2010.

Since September 2010 it has been named as the O2 Apollo Manchester.

A decent audience recording exists for this show.
