Show Intro

"Hello my fellow music lovers and welcome once again to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock."

"Great to be with you."

"I've only got the one hour, 60 minutes, so let's crack on."

"Very excited to be starting the show off tonight with a bit of Buckcherry."

Buckcherry

"I have very fond memories of seeing that band live at the Whiskey a Go Go in Los Angeles 25 years ago when they just started out."

"They were absolutely phenomenal."

"I thought we had the next GNR on our hands right there but sadly it didn't quite happen."

"They have made over the years some amazing music and nothing better than their debut album back in 1999 which was produced by Steve Jones and the Sex Pistols, their eponymously titled album Buckcherry, the song we heard, Dead Again."

Von Hertzen Brothers

"Right, so from a quarter of a century ago to just last week, this is brand new Von Hertzen Brothers."

"And before that brand new Von Hertzen Brothers, the album came out last week."

"It is called In Murmuration."

"It's brilliant actually what I've heard so far."

"Really like this band anyway but they just keep delivering great music."

"This is their brand new single and it is indeed called The Relapse."

Queen

"I will make no apologies at all for playing Queen again this week because Queen I Remix 2024 is so good."

"I might even play a track a week for the rest of my life."

"It is so, so, so brilliant."

"You have to hear this record."

"You just heard of course Great King Rat."

"What a great, great, great thing that they have done with this album."

The Dave Mathews Band

"OK, so again carrying on from last week, here's a couple more artists that were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year."

"Starting off with a gentleman who was inducted by none other than Julia Roberts."

"And before that the Dave Matthews Band, who were inducted by Julia Roberts."

"She's an incredibly big fan and from my favourite Dave Matthews Band album Every Day, we heard a wonderful bit of work called The Space Between."

Foreigner

"Well if you haven't seen the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction party this year, it is on I believe Disney Plus and probably YouTube."

"And Sammy Hagar's induction of Foreigner, who we just heard, was absolutely fantastic."

"So although I really have to play a song of theirs that I really, really like, it's one that doesn't get played very often, very Zeppelin-esque I believe, from an album called Argent Provocateur."

"We just heard Stranger In My Own House."

"You are listening to the Joe Elliott show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock."

"Coming up, we're going to go swanning off.

David Bowie

"And before that we heard David Bowie from the album, which was originally called David Bowie, but once he became famous, they changed it to Space Odyssey because of the hit single."

"The song that we heard all nine minutes and 39 seconds of it, Signet Committee."

Free

"Big fan of that band, I am."

"I'm trying to figure out which is my favourite ever song."

"Really the live version of Mr Big could well be, My Brother Jake, or it could be the one that we just heard."

"They're all fantastic."

"It is Free from the album Heartbreaker with Wishing Well."

The Beatles

"So seeing as it was budget week, this just sprung to mind."

"And before that The Beatles, the 2023 remix by Giles Martin, son of Sir George from the 62 to 66 collection, we heard Taxman."

The Clash

"Two four-piece bands there with absolutely different agendas but wonderful to my ears, I've got to say."

"The Clash from their debut album back in 1977, London's Burning is what we just heard."

Show Outro

"And that, my friends, is about it for this week."

"Been a real pleasure as always."

"I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time, so please, please don't go anywhere."

"Until then, I shall leave you with this, taken from an album purely called Punk."

"This is Sham69 and Borstal Breakout."

"Until next week, see ya!."
