Show Intro

"Evening all and welcome once again to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Your roving reporter coming to you once again. 60 minutes of wonderful music lined up for you tonight. In my humble opinion. Starting off with a band who were a longer hold out from the digital domain than Def Leppard were. This is the Doctors Of Madness."

Doctors Of Madness

"Yes I had word this week from the good doctor himself Kid Strange. Telling me that the Doctors of Madness, for that is them that we just heard, are slowly but surely between now and Christmas releasing their entire back catalogue on digital. And this week they've gone on with their debut album which is called Late Night Movies All Night Brain Storms. The track we just heard, the opening track in fact, Waiting."

Cheap Trick

"And talking of opening tracks. Well they don't get much better than this one. This is Cheap Trick."

"And before that we heard the mighty Cheap Trick from 1979. Title track of that wonderful album that is the Dream Police."

Classless Act

"That my dear friends is a band called Classless Act who were actually the fifth band on the bill for the recent Stadium Tour that Def Leppard just completed with Motley and Poison and Joan Jett And The Blackhearts. Great band Classless Act. Really, really good band. Derek Day, the singer, actually sang with Tommy and Nikki at the Taylor Hawkins memorial show. Did I think it was Live Wire and Home Sweet Home. Wonderful singer, great band. And that is from their album Welcome To the Show. The song is called This Is For You. Which features another gentleman who also performed at both the Taylor Hawkins memorial shows Mr. Justin Hawkins from The Darkness."

Mountain

"Right then cowbells at the ready. And featuring some wonderful guitar from one Mr. Leslie West. This is Mountain."

"And before that we heard Mountain. Leslie West a huge influence, specifically on Mick Ralphs, but overall on the band Mott The Hoople. A song once covered by Lenny Kravitz. We just heard Mississippi Queen."

Be Bop Deluxe

"They were such a great band. They were such a great band live as well. I saw them a couple of times in Sheffield City Hall. Always great to hear Bill Nelson doing his thing with Be Bop Deluxe there. from the 1976 album I think it was. the album is Modern Music. The song we heard Twilight Capers."

"You are listening to The Joe Elliott Show right here on the wonderful Planet Rock. Coming up we're going back to shool with Supertramp."

Supertramp

"And before that Supertramp from that phenomenal album from 1974 Crime Of The Century. We heard the song School."

The Alan Parsons Project

"I've had one of those weeks where I've been following a thread if you like. I was listening to a lot of Roger Waters records and once I'd finished listening to them it just kept me in the mood to listen to some kind of progressive style pop I suppose you might call it. And that band fell right into the category. It is The Alan Parsons Project from I think about 1976/77. The album is called Tales Of Mystery And Imagination. The song we heard The Raven thus quoth nevermore."

Billy Squier

"He was a massive star in 1982 and in 1983 Def Leppard opened for him for about a month. And these days he's a part time musician and a part time gardener in Central Park in New York. This is Billy Squier."

"And before that we heard Billy Squier from a wonderful album called Emotions In Motion. The song we heard Everybody Wants You."

The Outfield

"I remember when that song came out a lot of people could not get their head round the fact that it wasn't Sting singing. I think heavily influenced would be the way to put it. But what a wonderful song it is. It's The Outfield from an album called Play Deep. The song is Your Love."

Nazareth

"Right coming up a couple of songs that feature some really wonderful slide guitar playing. Starting off with this crod for a little bit of Razamanaz. This is Nazareth."

"And before that Nazareth featuring the mighty Manny Charlton on some fantastic slide guitar from the album Razamanaz we heard Bad Bad Boy."

Mott

"Two great examples of slide playing there by two wonderful guitarists. Sadly neither of them with us any more. We just heard Ray Majors there featured in the band Mott from their 1976 album Shouting And Pointing with a song called Collision Course."

Show Outro

"And that my friends is about it for this week. Been a real pleasure as always. But you knew that already. I say it every week pretty much don't I. And I also say I shall be back with you next week at exactly the same time. With more of the same only just a little bit different.

"And as you all know. on occasions we have to go out on a bit of a stonker. And a stonker this one is. From the album Kitsch these days. Although it was in 1976 a standalone single. This is the Heavy Metal Kids with Delirious. Until next week see ya!."
