Def Leppard played a Summer Stadium Tour 2024 show last night in Arlington, TX with 18 songs performed.
The show took place at the 40,300 capacity Globe Life Field.
The first show in this city since August 2022.
The second time at this venue.
Hot Night In Texas
Show #14 on The Summer Stadium Tour saw the band return to Texas.
Playing in this state for the first time since ending the brief run of six stadium shows on The World Tour in August 2023 in El Paso.
A return to Arlington, Texas after two years for the start of a repeat three show run here, in Houston and San Antonio.
And in 37C heat that was thankfully kept at bay by the massive retractable roof which was closed as it had been in 2022.
Indoor Show
A giant building made to look even more massive with the huge roof covering the baseball field.
35,000 plus fans packed the stadium.
A step up from the last show in front of 7,000 fans in the somewhat smaller Hard Rock Live venue in Hollywood, FL.
And as Joe mentioned on his latest radio show he was now back to full health.
The Steve Miller Band started things off again at 6pm with their white backdrop.
Followed again by Journey at 7:30pm who treated the crowd to their biggest hits including 'Don't Stop Believin'' and 'Any Way You Want It' to end their set.
Journey had played two solo shows in the mini tour break on 9th/10th August in Arcadia, WI and Oshkosh, WI.
Pyromania In Texas
One year after playing 'Foolin'' in El Paso 40 years after the song made it's live debut in Texas it was played again.
This time 41 years later as song #3 in the show which got started as ever at 9:30pm.
In Arlington? Dallas? Forth Worth? - Joe couldn't decide so he greeted all three before 'Foolin''.
Arlignton, Texas. Not to be confused with Arlignton, Virginia...or even Arlington, Washington.
The giant building now in full darkness and even some extra lighting with three staircases on each side of the stage lit up in red behind them.
The band once again sounding great as seen heard on many live fan broadcasts.
Joe commenting before 'Two Steps Behind' that they were making a lot of noise.
The 'Pyromania' section remained the same as the previous two shows with 'Billy's Got A Gun'.
'Comin' Under Fire' has not been played since Boston on 5th August but may yet return.
The crowd got even louder at the and as 'PSSOM' again closed out the show with Sav wearing a Texas Rangers baseball shirt for the last two songs.
Show #15 on the main tour and now two more shows this week in Texas.
Up next a venue that looks almost the same as this one and should see the second of three indoor stadium shows in this state.
Given to 37C to 40C temps predicted over this week that could be a good thing!.
18 Song Setlist
An 18 song setlist was played.
'Just Like '73' and 'Billy's Got A Gun' both played in this city for the first time.
Arlington History
The first visit to Arlington was in August 2022 on The Stadium Tour.
The first time they played Globe Life Field.
Last night's show was the 2nd overall performance in Arlington.
The next Def Leppard show takes place Houston, TX on 14th August.
