Def Leppard another show on The World Tour 2023 last night in Copenhagen, Denmark with 17 songs performed.

The show took place at the 35,000 capacity Refshaleøen.

The first show in this city since October 1996.

Another outdoor festival show.

COPENHELL

From Rock to Hell.

Unlike the previous four festivals on this tour this one did not have ROCK in its title.

But Hell turned out to be anything but as the Danish fans basked in hot summer weather.

More like heaven than hell, and as Rick Allen always promises, there was rock!.

Refshaleøen Venue

The unique venue for this show was a former industrial site located in the harbour area of the city.

With two main stages set up next to each other and on the band's left a massive aircraft hanger like building which has a giant wolf face painted on it.

The eyes even lighting up as darkness fell and the festival beamed spotlights on to them.

Up to 35,000 fans packed the Refshaleøen complex on the floor area and on grass bank at the back.

Copenhagen Gets Rocked

The show itself saw yet another fantastic and rocking performance from the band during their first time back in the city since the Slang tour.

Joe apologised to the crowd for the long gap between shows in Copenhagen and how they would have been here two years ago but for the pandemic.

The crowd obviously enjoyed having them back and Joe declared they had been "f**king amazing!" at the end of 'Photograph'.

Just three more festivals left on the tour and up next the HELL theme continues (and a significant anniversary).

Rick Meets The Ghost Inside Drummer

After the show the drummer from the Californian metal core band The Ghost Inside posted a photo of a backstage meeting with Rick.

As it turns out that band were involved in a serious tour bus crash in November 2015 and drummer Andrew Tkaczyk ended up having to have one of his legs amputated and was in a coma for ten days.

Both drivers of the tour bus were killed but the rest of the band and crew survived.

And like Rick he continued with the band and they were also on the COPENHELL bill playing on the second stage (Hades stage) at 8:30pm last night.

They resumed their career in 2018 and have since released a self-titled album in 2020.

Andrew's post can be seen below where he mentions Rick contacted him after hearing of the crash and helped him through difficult times but last night was their first in person meeting.

17 Song Setlist

The same 17 song setlist played once more.

All three 'Diamond Star Halos' songs played in Denmark for the first time.

Copenhagen History

The band first visited Copenhagen back in October 1983 during the Pyromania tour at the Saltlageret venue.

That was also their first ever show in Denmark.

They returned in March 1988 on the Hysteria tour at the now demolished K.B. Hallen.

The Adrenalize tour saw them play two shows. A club show in June 1992 followed in May 1993 by a show on the main tour at Forum Copenhagen.

They then returned to the K.B. Hallen in October 1996 on the Slang tour.

Since then two more shows were played in Denmark in Middelfart (2008) and Sonderborg with Bon Jovi in June 2019.

Last night's show was the sixth overall in Copenhagen.

The next Def Leppard show takes place in Clisson, France on 16th June at the Hellfest festival.
