DEF LEPPARD Live In St. John's, NL 2025 (Show Report/Setlist)

Def Leppard played a 2025 tour show last night in St. John's, NL with 18 songs performed.
The show took place at the 17,000 capacity Churchill Park.
A show played as part of the four day Churchill Park Music Festival.
The sixth and final Canadian show of the 2025 tour.
The first show in this city since August 1993.
Return To Newfoundland
Having completed their five show Canadian stint a week ago the band played three shows in the USA.
For the final show of this tour leg it was time to return to Canada and also a city only played once before many years ago.
32 years in fact back in 1993 on the 'Never Ending Weekend' leg of the Adrenalize world tour.
And to a time zone even closer to the UK than East Coast USA time.
St. John's being located on Newfoundland and Labrador.
Newfoundland is an Island and the most east point of Canada on the Atlantic coast.
This meant the show was played only 3.5 hours behind UK time.
Not far from the site of the first ever show here 32 years ago which took place at Quidi Vidi Park.
That park is only 2.3 miles to the North East of here and was the most Eastern point they have ever played in Canada/North America..
The sea breeze definitely keeping things a lot cooler than the recent shows in the USA.
The stage was set for the last night of the tour until mid August and the last Canadian show for probably at least a year.
Canadian Support Bands
The show started at 5pm local time with the first of three Canadian bands.
Haywire, who come from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, played a 10 song set from 5 to 5:30pm.
They originally played from 1981 to 1993 and reformed in 2004.
Next up were Honeymoon Suite, from Niagara Falls, ON, who also formed back in 1981.
They started at 6:20pm and played an 11 song set which included their 1986 hit single 'Feel It Again'.
A song played by Joe on his Planet Rock show.
As noted by Rick in his pre show video, it became very cold and windy as the next act took to the stage.
Sam Roberts Band, from Montreal, QC, started their set at 7:20pm.
They played at least 9 songs including their 2003 Canadian hit single 'Where Have All the Good People Gone?'.
Lots of posts online by fans during these opening sets and then...not so much as Pyro Clock time approached.
Tour Leg One Ends In Canada
The slightly smaller outdoor stage was not quite big enough to fit the band's full production but did have the two side screens and a big screen behind them.
Not room enough for the usual big drum riser/ramp and the circular lights.
Instead they had some slightly different lights set up below Rick's kit and beside it (as seen in the pics below).
Pics/Video clips were eventually posted but sadly not many during the show.
A large photo gallery was posted by the festival themselves after it ended and "eventually" followed by some great fan video footage from the front rows.
Finally revealing that another great show had taken place in front of a capacity crowd of around 17,000 fans.
The festival revealed the show had only sold out earlier in the day as Sam Roberts Band were on stage.
The show came to an end before the 11pm curfew and so did this tour leg.
Joe impressed enough with the crowd to give them a "Wow!" before promising not to leave it so long before they return next time.
And there will be a next time!.
Time now for a rest for the band before they resume this 2025 summer tour in California where it will probably be much warmer.
Next up a return to a casino and a city/venue never played before.
Don't forget them and they won't forget you.
18 Song Setlist
An 18 song setlist was played.
'Just Like '73', 'Let It Go', 'Die Hard The Hunter', 'This Guitar' and 'Switch 625' were played here for the first time.
As well as the full BOTH electric version, the song was played here in 1993 as the acoustic/electric version.
St. John's History
The first visit to St. John's took place in August 1993 on the Adrenalize tour.
An event called the Labbatt Ice Summer Blast '93 with Ugly Kid Joe, April Wine and others on the same bill.
The only previous visit to the city and to Newfoundland.
Last night's show was the 2nd performance in St. John's.
The next Def Leppard show takes place in Lincoln, CA on 9th August.
