Def Leppard played a 2025 tour show last night in Mount Pleasant, MI with 18 songs performed.

The show took place at the 13,000 capacity outdoor stage at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort.

A show played outdoors within the grounds of the casino.

The first show in this city since July 2015.

Return To Michigan

After five shows in Canada, including two massive shows in Quebec City and Ottawa, it was time to head back south to the USA.

And return to Michigan for a show in a city not played since 2015.

In fact almost ten years to the day since their last visit to the outdoor stage at this casino.

A stage used for their outdoor summer concert series.

Collective Soul

Currently on a co-headline summer tour with fellow 90s band Live (and Canada's own Our Lady Peace), Collective Soul joined the 2025 tour briefly.

Celebrating 30 years since their second album 'Collective Soul' was released featuring 'The World I Know'.

Their first album in 1993 featured the massive hit "Shine" which was included in their opening set.

Played in bright sunshine and watched by Mr. Rick Allen as seen in his continuing series of pre show videos.

Collective Soul had played the indoor venue here in November 2024.

The previous connection to Def Leppard for them being singer Ed Roland touring with Joe in June 2013 as part of Kings Of Chaos.

Four shows were played in South Africa with two in Cape Town and two in Sun City at the infamous Sun City Superbowl.

First Show 47th Anniversary

From Westfield School To Mount Pleasant, Michigan.

Yes the band were celebrating 47 years since Joe and Sav played their very first public show at Westfield School in Sheffield on 18th July 1978.

Along with Pete Willis, Steve Clark and Tony Kenning.

A slight improvement in the size of the crowd going from around 150 in 1978 up to 13,000.

A sold out crowd packed the seating and lawn area for this show.

It appears Joe may have mentioned this before 'This Guitar' (and if footage surfaces his words will appear below along with the video).

Judging from the footage you can see via the Fan Videos playlist link below the 48th year of touring got off to a great start.

And although Joe keeps saying he met Sav in August 1977, the band's 48th anniversary as a band takes place technically in November.

The quotes in 'Animal Instinct' telling us that the band formed in November 1977.

Fitting that in September they will play a UK show only around 177 miles or so away from the site of that first gig and where they formed.

Next up another return to an outdoor venue also played for the first time in 2015 in New York state.

18 Song Setlist

An 18 song setlist was played.

'Just Like '73', 'Die Hard The Hunter' and 'This Guitar' were played here for the first time.

Mt. Pleasant History

The first and only other visit to Mount Pleasant was in July 2015.

Played at the same venue and using the same outdoor stage but with Tesla in support.

The last time they played in the state of Michigan itself was in Detroit on the same date of 18th July 2024 at Comerica Park with Journey.

Last night's show was the 2nd performance in Mount Pleasant.

The next Def Leppard show takes place in Bethel, NY on 20th July.
