Def Leppard played a 2025 tour show last night in Gary, IN with 17 songs performed.
The show took place at the 2,700 capacity Hard Rock Live Northern Indiana.
A return to an indoor casino venue.
The first ever visit to this city.
Indoors In Indiana
The band were back with their 2025 staging and set for the first electric show since Chelmsford in September at Radio 2 In The Park.
Fresh off the back of their private charity event in Pacific Palisades.
An acoustic show with The Who and other classic rock stars playing a rare set for charity.
Followed by some nonsense on a pavement/sidewalk nearby...(they already have star in Sheffield!...just kidding...).
Yes back on tour for just one show, in public, and then one in secret in Vegas.
Travelling just over 2,000 miles from the last show to this one and a first time visit to the birthplace of the Jackson 5 (and their sisters).
The first time in Gary, Indiana and at a relatively new casino venue.
Grey skies outside but nothing but rock inside.
The Thundergod Video
Rick recalled the recent Walk of Fame thing and his solo events with Lauren Monroe. And seemed somewhat confused as to where they were.
Rick - "Actually off the road it's been so busy, we did the rock star, you know, the walk, the Hollywood star."
Rick - "That was awesome. Been busy doing shows with Lauren and there's just been so much going on."
Rick - "But we're here, where are we again John?. Gary, Indiana. How could I forget that?."
Rick - "So we're about to go on and yes there will be rock."
And he also had time to hide a printed setlist which gave us the details of their slightly shortened show just ahead of time.
(Not Quite) The Last Show
Almost but not quite the final show of 2025 got underway earlier than first thought.
Kicking off as ever with 'Rock! Rock!' promptly at 8pm.
One of the few indoor shows that started at 8pm with others usually not getting under way until around 8:15pm.
No support act again in this venue which only opened in summer 2021.
A smaller scale stage area with no big lighting rig above them but still room for the circular LED lights and a screen behind them.
The stage surrounded as ever by two big side screens and almost a carbon copy of the Hollywood, FL and Atlantic City, NJ shows.
Minus one song with 'Die Hard The Hunter' not played despite recent addition 'When Love & Hate Collide' being dropped as expected.
After being part of the setlist at the Radio 2 In The Park show in Chelmsford.
A slightly shorter 17 song setlist was revealed by the band ahead of show time.
Show time that despite a couple of early videos didn't give much entertainment to anyone following along online.
Until just after the show ended and full video of the encore was posted.
Enough footage to show us the band played another great show in front of the sold out crowd of 2,700 fans.
All getting a great view of this 2025 stage design for (almost) its final outing.
As Joe said at the end - "there will be a next time" and that it was a "spectacular way to end the tour".
And there will be a next time in 2025.
Yes, not quite the final show of the tour or the year, up next a private show in Las Vegas.
Where?...good question, but hopefully we'll soon find out.
17 Song Setlist
A 17 song setlist was played.
'Just Like '73' and all songs played here for the first time.
'When Love & Hate Collide' dropped and no room for 'Die Hard The Hunter' which had been played for most of the year.
Gary History
No history for this city.
The first known show in the state of Indiana was in Evansville at Mesker Music Theater in August 1989 supporting Ozzy Osbourne.
The last visit to Indiana was in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium in August 2022 during The Stadium Tour.
Last night's show was the first performance in Gary.
The next Def Leppard show takes place (privately) in Las Vegas, NV on 15th October.
