Def Leppard played a Live 2026 tour show in Mexico City, Mexico last night with 19 songs performed.

The show took place at the 20,000 capacity Palacio De Los Deportes.

The band's fifth time at this venue.

The first visit to this city since February 2023 on The World Tour.

Back In Mexico City

On 20th October 2022 the band announced the first tour dates for The World Tour 2023.

The first show of that tour saw the band (and Motley Crue) play the giant 60,000 capacity Foro Sol stadium in Mexico City in February 2023.

And now a return to the same complex where the 20,000 seat Palacio De Los Deportes arena stands just a few hundred meters away.

A circular-shaped building nicknamed by locals as El Domo de Cobre (The Copper Dome).

First played over two nights in September 1993 as the final dates of the Adrenalize world tour, just ahead of the release of the 'Retro-Active' album.

After the cold outdoor show in Querétaro at the Autódromo de Querétaro it was time for the band to travel back to the capital city.

The first indoor show here since October 2017 where they had a local band open for them called The Warning who have gone on to worldwide fame.

The temperatures outside were just as cold as the last show but fortunately this time they would be playing indoors.

A first full arena show since July in Paris, France - (with that previous show in Paris in 1996 taking place 30 years ago today).

The seating chart suggested there would also be a return of the cross-shaped Thrust stage seen in Europe/UK this summer.

Also seen on the seating charts for the upcoming 45-date North American tour.

Loud And Proud In Mexico City

After Extreme got thing started with their hour long opening set it was the turn of Def Leppard to play for one of their most enthusiastic crowds.

Starting shortly after 9pm the band hit the stage with 'Rejoice' and were greeted with a massive roar from the sold out crowd of almost 20,000 fans.

It may have been cold outside but it was hot inside.

The band were back in a Mexico City arena for the first time since 2017 and it was full up.

Some good videos posted during the show and plenty more since and another great show was played to add to the many this year.

The usual setlist was kept to with 'Rejoice', 'Personal Jesus' and 'White Lightning' getting their debuts in this city and going down a storm.

'Slang', 'Promises' and 'Armageddon It' all followed but would there be any changes?.

Nuno Bettencourt did not join the band for 'Slang' as he had in the summer.

'When Love & Hate Collide' was not brought back into the set.

But an 18 song set turned into 19 when Joe appeared before the encore section with his acoustic guitar.

And in a repeat of the second and third shows in India he invited the crowd to join him to sing 'Two Steps Behind'.

Or in Joe's words - "You're such an amazingly loud audience - we would absolutely love it if you would sing this one with us.".

And as you can see/hear from the multiple fan videos they did indeed sing it together and very loudly.

The cross-shaped thrust stage was back but as with the two shows already played on this leg no movable lighting rig.

The show still looks just as spectacular as it did in Las Vegas in February and the band continue to perform brilliantly.

And just how good were the crowd? Well, Joe put it like this before 'Rock On':

"It just doesn't get any better than this."

And that they formed the band so they could - "experience an audience like we have tonight."

So you could say they were quite good!.

Another triumphant night in Mexico City.

Next up is a third show in Mexico and a return to Guadalajara for another arena show.

19 Song Setlist

'Rejoice', 'Personal Jesus' and 'White Lightning' were all played here for the first time.

Mexico City History

The first show here took place at the Palacio De Los Deportes in September 1993 when two shows ended the Adrenalize world tour.

The first time the band had ever played in Mexico after two previous promo visits and after their first show in the country in Monterrey a few days before.

They returned to the same venue for a single night in April 1997.

The band would not be back in Mexico until November 2005 when two nights were played at National Auditorium on the first 'Rock of Ages' tour.

Another long wait before the next show in September 2012 on the second 'Rock of Ages' tour.

The first time at the larger Arena Ciudad De Mexico (Mexico City Arena) with Poison.

September 2014 saw the band back at the Palacio De Los Deportes for a fourth time.

A second show took place at Arena Ciudad De Mexico (Mexico City Arena) in October 2017 with The Warning in support.

The last show in this city was played at Foro Sol stadium with Motley Crue in February 2023 on The World Tour.

Last night's show was the 10th performance in Mexico City.

The next Def Leppard show takes place on 21st October in Guadalajara, Mexico.
