DEF LEPPARD Live 2026 Summer Tour In Belfast (Show Report/Setlist)
Def Leppard played a Live 2026 tour show in Belfast, Northern Ireland last night with 19 songs performed.
The show took place at the 20,500+ capacity Ormeau Park.
The band's first visit to Belfast since 2018.
The first time at this venue and festival.
Belsonic In Belfast
After an indoor arena show in hot Germany the band travelled back to the UK.
The 'not as hot as the rest of the UK', Northern ireland and a return home for Vivian in Belfast.
The 2018 Northern Ireland Hospice Ambassador returned home with the band for their first visit to the Belsonic festival.
Held in Ormeau Park in the city centre near the River Lagan.
A nice setting and decent weather for the crowd to witness two opening bands and the first show of the Live 2026 UK tour.
No Dublin on this tour (which might suggest another Dublin/Download combination of shows in 2027...).
The first UK festival show for the band since Radio 2 In the Park in Chelmsford, England in September 2025.
And like that show it would also be broadcast live on the radio.
Sweet Savage/Vivian Guest Appearance
Before the usual special guests Extreme played it was the turn of Vivian's old band Sweet Savage.
They had been added to the show line-up in February and it seemed likely Vivian might make a guest appearance with them in the city where they began in the 1970s.
Sure enough he did, appearing on the classic song 'Killing Time' which was later covered by Metallica.
The performance was also included in the radio broadcast.
See photos and video below as posted by one of the band members and two versions via the Fan Videos link.
And speaking of other bands, Joe's friend, Leppard support act and Black Star Riders/The Almighty frontman Ricky Warwick attended the show.
Live 2026 On The Radio
In the run to show time some of us realised the show was going to be broadcast live on BBC Radio Ulster.
This might have been discovered sooner if the extreme heat ofthe past week hadn't melted everyone's brains.
Not as hot as Europe but still hotter than it's ever been in England at least.
As 9pm approached it was clear there was not going to be a lot of fan content posted during this show so it was a welcome change to actually hear the whole show.
LIVE as it happened and with a much better sound mix than last year's Chelmsford show by BBC Radio 2 last September.
A show that was played just after this tour had been announced.
At 9pm the radio show, which had started at 8pm, interrupted a Zeppelin song and suddenly the Announcer Intro was heard followed by the intro to 'Rejoice'.
The band took to the big main stage surrounded by a green Belsonic festivsl design, with two big side screens.
The usual staging for this tour was used apart from the band having to use the festivals own lighting rig above them.
The familiar 19 song setlist followed and the band sounded in great form.
We would not 'see' until a little later when some fan posts showed up other than a couple of drone videos by the local press.
These aerial views showed the massive crowd they were playing to.
Somewhere beteen 20 to 30,000 fans pakced into the festival area of the park.
And they made a LOT of noise during the show singing along to almost every word and right from the first song.
Joe greeted the crowd before 'Let's Get Rocked' and noted the show was "going out on the radio.".
Loud and clear at the time but if you went back to listen again the audio is sadly "very quiet" for some reason.
Joe also referenced how big the crowd was before BOTH by stating it was the most people they have ever played infront of in Belfast.
Topping the previous biggest crowd here at the 2018 show at SSE Arena.
It could be the number of fans attending is closer to 30,000 than the 20,000 quoted capacity for ths festival.
And at the end of the night Joe acknowleged just how loud the crowd had been.
Even almost drowning out the music during PSSOM.
"What a noise!".
What a noise indeed!.
He also acknowledged the Belfast crowds as - "one of the greatest audiences we've ever played in front of".
The Belfast show kicked off the Live 2026 UK tour in great style with five more shows to come over the next week or so.
And "hopefully" the extreme heat will be avoided as it's supposed to cool down by the time they hit the stage for the next show.
And the next show sees them return to Scotland and back indoors to another arena.
Listen to the show at (UK only) - bbc.co.uk - (hopefully they fix the audio on the replay!)
The first hour includes Vivian with Sweet Savage and Def Leppard from one hour into the show.
19 Song Setlist
'Rejoice', 'Personal Jesus' and 'Just Like '73' were all played here for the first time.
