Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott appears in the new Marc Bolan/T. Rex documentary Angelheaded Hipster.

The documentary was initially released at the June 2022 Tribeca Film Festival in the USA.

It is now being given a preview in UK cinemas tomorrow - 14th September 2023.

It will then be on general release from 22nd September.

The one hour 39 minute minute documentary is titled "Angelheaded Hipster: The Songs of Marc Bolan & T. Rex".

It was directed and written by Ethan Silverman.

It tells the story of Marc Bolan and his success in the 1970s fronting T. Rex and features many artists including Joe.

An album of the same name was released in August 2020 featuring a cover of 'Get It On (Bang A Gong)' by U2, who also feature in the film.

The lyrics of that song inspired the title of Def Leppard's May 2022 album 'Diamond Star Halos' with the band having performed the song many times live.

Joe's appearance appears to have been filmed in 2018 (judging by his hair) in the trailer which you can see below.

Joe's quote below seems to relate to him seeing Marc Bolan on Top of The Pops.

A story he has told many times before in interviews and an appearance that also inspired Vivian Campbell.
