Def Leppard played another show on The World Tour 2023 last night in Omaha, NE with 17 songs performed.

The show took place at the 35,000 capacity Charles Schwab Field stadium.

The first show in this city since October 2016.

The second appearance at this venue.

Back In Nebraska

A second time at this venue and a return to a baseball stadium for the first time since The Stadium Tour in September 2022.

Over 30,000 fans packed into this (not major league, but still big) baseball stadium.

Sunshine greeted the band as they played a second outdoor stadium show in a row in the "opening/daylight" slot.

Joe mentioned the fact the band had played in Omaha in 1983 and 1980.

In fact the 1980 show was the first night of the tour with Ted Nugent and the Scorpions (after two brief stints with Pat Travers and Judas Priest).

Omaha being the 17th city/show played in the USA on that debut tour.

And like all of their previous visits they rocked a near sold out crowd for 90 minutes.

Not a bad way to celebrate just over 43 years since they first played this city.

Rain For Alice Cooper

Rain and thunderstorms were forecast in Omaha and unfortunately for Alice Cooper and his band the heavens opened during his opening set.

The crowd may have gotten soaked during the show but thins brightened up by the time Alice ended his set.

There was no repeat of the delays endured last year at the first few shows of The Stadium Tour.

17 Song Setlist

The same 17 song setlist played once more.

All three 'Diamond Star Halos' songs played in Omaha for the first time.

The 'Drift Away' snippet and sing-along was again played before 'This Guitar'.

Omaha History

The first visit to Omaha was in June 1980 at the Omaha Civic Auditorium as support to Ted Nugent on their first American tour.

They returned to the same venue as headliners on the Pyromania tour in August 1983. They became the first band to sell out two nights at the venue.

Omaha Civic Auditorium was the venue again for the first of two In The Round shows in November 1987 on the Hysteria tour.

A second In The Round show happened in December 1992 on the Adrenalize tour.

They would not return until the Euphoria promo tour in December 1999 where they headlined a radio sponsored show at Ak-Sar-Ben Coliseum.

Seven years later Qwest Center Omaha (now CenturyLink Center Omaha) was played for the first time on the YEAH! tour in October 2006.

It would host a second show in October 2008 on the Songs From The Sparkle Lounge tour.

The last visit here was four years ago on the Rock Of Ages for the Red Sky Music Festival at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha. The first outdoor show in Omaha.

In 2016 the band returned to play CenturyLink Center Omaha on the Summer Tour 2016.

Last night's show was the 11th overall performance in Omaha.

The next Def Leppard show takes place in Tulsa, OK on 16th August which is of course quite a significant date for a certain drummer.
